Today the first wave of ZSMU students (five groups with 64 students in total, specialty “General Medicine”) took the state final examination held at the Regional Clinical Hospital.
The Dean of the International Faculty №2, the Associate Professor Ivan Melnyk says that everyone passed examination without any problems demonstrating high level of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. The next wave of students is about to take their examination on Saturday. In total, 178 foreign students in specialty “General Medicine” have to pass examination.
There are five exams divided in two rounds. Currently students are undergoing exams in “Internal Diseases”, “General Surgery”, “Obstetrics and Gynecology”, and in June they has yet to take the second round consisting of “Children Diseases”, “Social Hygiene and Organization of Public Health Protection”.
According to Ivan Volodymyrovych, the State Examination Commission, which assesses knowledge of future doctors in specialty “General Medicine”, is highly professional and responsible. The Commission is headed by the Professor Victor Denisovich Sivolap, MD, including heads of departments, deans, their deputies and examiners. Next week, subsequent to foreign students it’s our native students in the same specialty who will try their skills and knowledge at the state final examination.
